In Tibetan, Nyidhakarsum, Nyi is Sun, Dha, Moon. Kar is the star and Sum means three, Each of the three verses in this song is dedicated to a Tibetan Holy person. First is His Holiness, the Dalai Lama(Sun), Next the Panchen Lama(moon) and thirdly, the Karmapa Lama(stars) I wrote the lyrics, although the triple metaphor is very familiar to Tibetans, The music is based on a Traditional melody from the Khongpo region in Tibet. May all Sentient beings Know Happiness.
